It is obvious that an emphasis needs to be placed on recruiting those who are beginning their sailing dreams. I wish I had found out about the Corinthians earlier in my sailing career. Unfortunately, many potential members have never heard of this great organization.

3

Please note that I am a totally inactive member because I live in Canada. But I maintain my membership out of loyalty and gratitude for all that I was able to do when I lived in the New York area.

Nice to randomly meet Corinthians after seeing them flying the flag.

Encourage members to fly the flag.

7

There is a deficit of good Fleet leaders....Fleet Captains should be encouraged to enlist new members to assist in Fleet planning of on and off water activities.

8

I have had a great time with the Corinthians and wish we could add to our membership to keep the club thriving in the future.

Being new to the association, with just 1 year of involvement, I may need to be a bit more patient to witness my fleet's activities level. As of this point in time I feel like the NE fleet is more scattered geographically than the LIS and Mystic fleets, for example.

18

I have made some good frendships from my participation in Corinthians events

How about a focus group?

21

This is one of the best designed surveys I have seen. Well done!

22

Needs a few more regular casual meetings to keep members' interaction alive !

Slim down the central Afterguard. Concentrate on fleet leadership for local/regional activities and building membership.

Love the Cruise! More small local cruises would be great.

30

Of all the organizations I belong to, the Corinthians is the best. Are welcoming attitude towards all our members surpasses everybody else's. Thanks for putting this survey together

31

We really enjoy being a part of the CB Corinthians. We have learned a lot, met lots of great people and had some wonderful sails.

32

Gear this organization around people who both work and have children.

I think focusing on local fleets is better. Driving too far is a deterrent.

Zoom is a good idea, but inperson is best. Sailing is hands on.

Have an afterwork weekly sailing race with each local fleet with boats willing to take on friendly strangers to crew.

We do cruises really well. Our difference is we mix upscale dinner locations with pot lucks and casual raft ups. Our cruises introduce members to places they may not have known about.

Great club!

43

Yes, Corinthians are very willing to help other Corinthians especially in time of need on and off the water. That's the Corinthians way.

44

Thanks to Fleet Leadership for their efforts

I think I covered it! :)

47

As we are a virtual club, the Year Book and Mainsheet are the only paper documents that go to all members. I believe they are both essential and could be developed firther.

48

We have enjoyed our membership with Corinthians for many years and have made many close friendships with other sailors.

49

My fleet, LIS, no longer has activities in the 'off season' and during the season, too much emphasis is placed on a race with a 'rendezvous,' really meaning an 'after race dinner.'

Not much point in going to a dinner with people I didn't share the experience with and where there is no 'purpose' to hang together.

50

Best to focus on the sailing experience and maintaining the high standard, the rest will follow.

51

Cruise events are the best way to get to know other members

52

Maybe in a couple of years I / we will have some comments that will help!

Highlighting different members in publications and/or on the website would be a way for us to get to know our fellow Corinthians.

I wish that more members thought that it is a feature (not a burden) of membership to take an active role.

I have met and become sort of friendly with a number of members. I just thought of the following: there should be ways to engage Port Captains and have members utilize their local area knowledge.

62

We should keep a record of jobs held by members (committee memberships, cruises chaired, etc). This history of each individual could be included in the

yearbook. This would help the association's most important committee, Nominating. One of the years I chaired it, I was the ONLY one who knew

anyone.

It's only as good as individual participation, so encourage as much as possible.
