13

Promote more interaction between members. It is VERY clique with a core group that is always at the center and not being particular inclusive.

14

We need to change our image. Corinthians are a cut above, which can be intimidating to potential candidates.

18

I guess member recruitment

19

I think the leadership is doing a great job. They should focus on getting more boats to events and getting crew members on boats

20

Surveying the membership, which this exercise is doing is a great start. This hopefully will identify areas of weakness and strengths and help chart a Course for future growth. Focus as a leadership team on how to bring the weakest fleet(New England) up to the same standard and level of the strongest. (Chesapeake?) This should be a joint effort of Leadership/afte. Utilize technology (Teams/Zoom) to hold bi-annual regional meetings so that members can hear directly from leadership and offer input

21

On water sailing activities

22

Frequent events/activities on land and sea that keep people engaged and getting to know each other

23

NC

24

Shared interest related to sailing, specifically sub-interest of sailboat repair, racing lessons, etc.

25

Focus on sailing & on sailing-related & boat-related activities vs social activities. Hold more small group events, do more zooms in winter.

26

Promoting opportunities for members to get to know each other better - to make social participation more comfortable and to encourage connecting sailors to crew or who need crew.

27

Identify cruises & captains early in the year, well before the season begins and post a firm schedule as soon as possible. Remember, you are competing for the members time vs other boating season activities, plans and opportunities.

34

Is the focus on sailing or boating?

35

more events

36

Recognize that CB is a cruising fleet and very different from northern fleets (N). The N fleets were competitive race oriented New Yorkers and some other NE/Boston. Look at the race and offshore trophies. N fleets lost their way with demise of the racer/cruiser; few now race seriously (Beringer & who else?). We gave up on signature event the Intercollegiate in 2000. Combine N fleet efforts on spring and fall week long cruises led by AG Activities Chair. AG needs to focus on N fleets as one unit.

37

38

44

Increasing membership numbers and reducing the average age of membership.

45

I'm not aware that the organization doesn't feel strong.

46

Be the leader to foster learning and sailing to community. Help people get interested in sailing. As we age out, no one is coming in with any interest.

47

Encourage on the water events. Find out why members join but do not attend events or join in.

48

Member participation

Interesting and educational speakers at functions and cruises.

49

More short term on water events, like day sails or rendezvous

50

Encourage a broader base of leadership

51

more informal events

52

We are new to the organization and have had a very good time when we hang out with the group, so I don't think I know enough yet to make a valued comment.

53

NC

54

Strengthen the cohesiveness of the organization. Members of the CB fleet are geographically closer to each other, so it is easier for fleet-wide social events and cruising-in-company than it is for the northern fleets. But they are further from the northern fleets where most of the Association events occur.

The northern fleets are too far apart for weekend cruising-in-company gatherings with a number of boats. They are close enough together they can drive a long day trip for an event.
