| A significant issue for all clubs. Boat ownership is a precursor to considering to join a sailing club. Crewing is not compelling. |
| Offer boating education, seminars on cruising, social invites. |
| I think this is a larger problem in sailing which has increasingly become less and less affordable to get into. Actively helping younger sailors with families to find charter boats to participate in the annual cruise might help. The biggest problem I hear form friends is that it is too expensive to sail. |
| No clue! All these organizations are dying, such as the Power Squadrons. The outreach must start early; perhaps organized sailing school events. |

| See above. Maybe poll boats at the Annual Meeting to see if they are willing to take out crew members who don't have boats. I'm sure not having a boat is an issue for younger age groups. |
| This is always a challenge. My current yacht club struggles with this and now has a tiered membership approach for dues to younger members. I am not sure the benefits to cost is an attraction to younger members as the dues are not that expensive. Sponsoring a collegiate regatta like the College Offshore Championships, might be an inroad for younger membership after college |
| Young member destination cruises, eg Virgin Islands |
| Promoting sailing for everyone especially for those who cannot afford a boat, sail learning opportunities (ie teaching people how to sail for free), casual get together evenings |

| We should run/help organize some sailing events/experiences for juniors. We originated & used to run the intercollegiate race (college crews sailing members' loaned boats). Storm Trysail Club took it over when the Corinthians voted to drop it, and STC still runs it today. We also used to sponsor other youth events. I & handful of older Corinthian members originally joined the Corinthians because our parents & adult sailing mentors were Corinthians. No offense, but we turned into an eggnog club. |
| Selected Social Media; same as above |
| Focus some cruses around kid / family based activities to attract families. |
| NC |

| My 37-year-old granddaughter has been a member for many years now. Her comments are there are no young people for her to sail with their share experiences with. I try to encourage her to bring on the friends locally that she sails with but she is reluctant since there are no other younger people in the group. I would encourage other members to bring on their children indoor grandchildren. |
| Weekend events. Maybe kids invited sometimes with kid friendly events included. |

| Ask some young people |
| Advertise on social media |

| We are attractive to those planning to buy a cruising boat and retire soon - age 55 to maybe 70. Younger people with jobs sail on and/or own pure race boats. Stop wasting energy on failed youth initiative. The people who talk to us at boat show booth are the new member market of 55-70. |
| NC |
| Invite them to crew on our boats |
| More events for younger members - at a restaurant or bar. |
| Introductory talks at places they gather. |
| NC |
| Members bring sons and daughters, with their young friends as guests |
| Advertising at schools that provide sailing courses such as St Mary's College. |
| Develop an active social media outreach plan and Increase the social media footprint of the organization. |
| Honestly, younger people with kids have too much going on on the weekend with extracurricular activities. |
| Social media, active FB page, maybe instagram and boost ads...inexpensive way to market the Corinthians. Offer mini outing (at the dock) to members boats for prospective members to learn about parts of the boat, sailing, ways to get out on boats through Corinthians. Advertise this on social media, local news, etc. Give them something first to get their membership. |
| Weekend events - they have jobs. Could include talks on aspects of sailing or boat ownership - educational |
| Approach younger sailors in marinas and yacht clubs and invite them to join in our activities. |
| Have more off season program events and in-season more rendezvous at various ports or anchorages. I am not a fan of races. |
| Encourage local high school and/or college programs to be included in activities. Invite students for day or weekend activities. |
