·      Anchorage:  There is a large area suitable for anchoring in the NE corner of Somes Sound in the vicinity of HR Able Yacht Yard.
·      Launch Service:  None in local area.
·      Dinghy Dock:  At HR Abel Yacht Yard to S side of service dock.  Be respectful:  do not tie up to service dock and impede yard operations.
·      Fuel:  None in local area.
·      Water:  At HR Able Yacht Yard.  Tie up to service dock for short period. Be respectful:  do not tie up to service dock and impede yard operations.
·      Marine Services:  HR Abel Yacht Yard.

• For those desiring a less crowded hike or walk on MDI we suggest:
• Little Long Pond. This property, which was formerly part of the Rockefeller estate, has several trails and  a beautiful boat house on the pond shore. It is now managed by the Mount Desert Land & Garden Preserve.
• Carriage paths accessible from the Parkman Mountain Carriage Road Trailhead
• An opportunity to see some of the famous stone bridges designed by John David Rockefeller Jr. A walk on these paths is especially good after heavy rain when the path is dry and  waterfalls can be seen along the way.
• Both Little Long Pond and the Parkman Mountain Carriage Road Trailhead can be reached by the Island Explorer Northeast Harbor bus that passes by Abel’s. Trails and paths in both connect to other trails on the east side of MDI, including those leading to Jordan Pond.
